Levels of Physical Activity based on age, gender, and stages of change in adolescents

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the level of physical activity (PA) based on gender, age, and states of change of adolescent students, as well as assess PA during free time, physical education classes, and weekends using validated questionnaires. Methodology: The study was non-experimental and cross-sectional, with a descriptive scope and a quantitative approach. The population was 1550 students, and a sample of 624 adolescents was considered, of which 309 were women and 315 were men, enrolled at "Bernardo Valdivieso" High School in Loja-Ecuador, through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The physical activity levels were measured through the IPAQ-A condensed version questionnaire and states of change with the transtheoretical model of physical exercise change questionnaire that places people in 5 stages (pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance). Results: Among the results, it stands out that the PA level of the population is low (M = 2.36), with women being less active than men. Conclusions: Likewise, it was determined that 60.57% of the population is in stages of change that are not continually active, with the highest percentage of adolescents in the contemplation stage.

Incidence of the ludo technical model on agility in high school students

Introduction: The ludo-technical model is an alternative to traditional teaching methods, focusing on the learning of technical skills from a playful and fun perspective, being useful for inclusive sports initiation, with a structure adaptable to different sports, it is especially useful for sports with complex technical movements. Aim. Therefore. Objective: of the research seeks to contribute to developing a higher level of physical agility in middle school students. Methodology: A methodology was applied with a quasi-experimental design, with a cross-sectional descriptive scope, taking a sample of 67 students from the elementary school of the Carlos Julio Arosemena Tola Educational Unit of the Santa Elena canton, the first group made up of 34 students from the parallel A, experimental group and the second group made up of 33 students from parallel B, control group, using non-probabilistic convenience sampling, the Illinois Agility Test was used. Results: The results show that the students had a better performance in the post-test record, after having taken the second test in which a playful exercise work was carried out in eight weeks, completely improving the agility of these students. Conclusion: It is evident that the application of the ludo-technical model improved in the experimental group during the eight weeks of training, with a general time of 8'59"33 thousandths of a second, below the main assessment of 11'27"37, being demonstrated the importance of this model.

Effects of explosive strength training with elastic bands in youth team soccer players

Introduction: Explosive strength training aimed at young soccer players is essential for the mastery, execution, and effectiveness of technical gestures. Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of explosive strength training with elastic bands in soccer players in the youth category of the Salesian Technical Educational Unit. Methodology: A quasi-experimental research was carried out, with a quantitative and longitudinal approach, applied to athletes of 15 and 16 years of age, 17 members of the experimental group and 17 of the control group, the first group was applied for 8 weeks a training plan with elastic bands, previously the Counter Movement Jump (CMJ) pretest was applied to both groups, also at the end of the 8 weeks the retest was applied. Results: the results obtained show that there is a positive dependence relationship at (0.70%) between the dependent variable explosive force and the independent elastic band. Conclusions: the study revealed that the implementation of the training program with elastic bands improves explosive strength in the lower limbs of youth soccer players. Positive changes are revealed here, mainly in the retest of the experimental group, with an improvement in the explosiveness of the movements, in the control group no significant changes were noted in the height parameter, nor in the development of the game.
