Introduction: Since ancient times, humanity has been on the move and the phenomenon of migration has occurred. Objective: This research aims to determine the level of incidence of migration on the academic performance of students in the basic areas of Language and literature, mathematics, natural sciences and social studies in the Unidad Educative "Santa Rosa". Methodology: mixed research was carried out, in which 339 elementary basic education students and 10 teachers participated. As data collection instruments, the survey for second, third and fourth grade students and the interview for teachers were used. Both the survey and the interview were conditional, that is, the next question depended on the answer to the previous one. In this way, it was possible to document the exact number of students who come from migrant homes. And the level of awareness on this issue that teachers have. The data obtained were consolidated and homogenized for analysis. Results: the results obtained indicate a large number of students with ancestry from migrant families from the countryside to the city, who do not have the support of their families in school tasks. In addition, they have academic performance problems in all subjects. However, this problem is not reflected in documents since teachers carry out pedagogical recovery and send extra work with which the children improve their grade. Conclusion: after this process, it is concluded that, at Unidad Educative Santa Rosa, there is a majority problem in relation to migrant students from the countryside to the city, which leads to academic problems which have to be solved inside the classrooms through academic reinforcement, without the input of parents.
