Self-esteem, sociocultural level, and geographical location as factors that affect students learning in English language at the IST “Riobamba”

Introduction:  English is the most widely spoken language around the world, for this reason English language teaching has been implemented in educational centers in Ecuador since 1992. However, according to the EF EPI (English Proficiency Index), Ecuador is positioned among the countries with a low level of English. Many people will say that it is due to teachers who do not use adequate teaching methods and resources or that the current educational system is outdated. These could be the causes, but there are also many external factors. Objective: For this reason, the objective of this research focuses on identifying self-esteem, sociocultural level and geographic location as factors that affect the learning of the English language in students of “Instituto Superior Technologic Riobamba.” Methodology: The research was conducted with students of the first semester of “IST Riobamba” with a sample of fifty students. The technique applied was the survey and the instrument used was the questionnaire. Results: Once the survey was conducted, the results were tabulated, where it was evidenced that self-esteem, sociocultural level, and geographical location influence in the learning process of the English language and then, with better motivation techniques, said teaching-learning process would be improved. Conclusion: In conclusion, through incentives for students, the importance of the language will be made known, achieving a favorable result in their performance towards this foreign language.

Aplicación duolingo en el desarrollo de la comprensión oral

Introduction: The following research shows that today there are advanced information and communication technologies available. For this reason, making use of e-learning and online learning in educational institutions seems to be a fundamental necessity. Objectives: The study aims to determine the use of the Duolingo application in the oral comprehension of the students of the language center of UNIANDES University. The article explains about the implementation of applications and how such gamification activities have induced and motivated to generate new learning skills, which facilitates the oral comprehension of students. It has been analyzed that, through audios, games, videos, and multimedia images, it develops the learning style and context. Methodology: The project has a qualitative-quantitative approach within a descriptive-explanatory level since it is based on real data. The research instruments are a survey, the standard First Certificate in English (FCE) test to establish the students' level of listening comprehension and a post-test (FCE) to analyze how the application influences the students' performance in this skill. Results: After analyzing and interpreting the results, the English level of fourth level students was identified to suggest the use of Duolingo to enhance listening comprehension. Conclusions: As a result, is the development of an activity manual that includes Duolingo with the intention of generating innovative activities aimed at fostering better levels of listening comprehension among students. Methodological proposal to motivate students between 12 and 14 years old in the area of natural sciences

Introduction: The motivation of gamification aims to implement gamification around Natural Sciences for the ninth year of basic education, after having analyzed the problem that teachers still maintain the teaching methodology of traditional education, making this a dense and repetitive learning for students, which is why in this project the use of gamification is proposed as the main axis. Objective: The objective of this research focuses on designing a methodology to motivate ninth-grade students of the higher level around Natural Sciences. Methodology: The present investigation is framed in a non-experimental investigation, with a mixed epistemological approach, of transversal cohort, reaching the descriptive level, for which a stratified random probabilistic sampling was applied to 33 students between 12 and 14 years old from the School of Basic General Education “Gaspar Sangurima” of the Cuenca canton, province of Azuay. Results: Using the Shapiro Wilk test statistics, normality could be tested with a reliability level of 95%, where it can be determined that all variables are non-parametric; Since they have a value less than 0.05 after achieving these results, an analysis of the acquired data can be executed. A proposal can be proposed and designed, which will be oriented towards the research objective. Conclusion: In conclusion, we can assimilate that student require a change in methodology to improve their teaching-learning during their stage of knowledge development.

Methodological proposal for the development of literacy skills in students from 6 to 7 years

Introduction: The lack of implementation of the game to improve reading and writing is a problem that grows in the first years of schooling, which if a change in methodology is not sought will cause the students to lose interest in reading. -writing throughout the learning stage. Objectives: Therefore, the objective of this research focuses on identifying various methods and active mechanisms linked to the game, allowing students from 7 years old Methodology: The present research is descriptive with quantitative data design, presenting the variables through graphic representations, which was executed with a stratified random sampling of 35 students from the E.E.B “Miguel Morocho” of the Tarqui Parish of the Cuenca Canton. Results: Once the survey was applied, the results were tabulated where it was evident that students want their learning to be based on games in an innovative, motivating, and creative way, allowing them to develop their knowledge and making the student the main manager of acquiring and building their knowledge. To comply with what was proposed, we start with the following proposals. Conclusion: We can conclude by making known the importance of the application of the game within learning in students at the age of 6 to 7 years, which allows them to strengthen their abilities and develop the literacy process in a playful way. through various methodologies that allow the development of reading and writing in the first years of schooling. Activity proposal to strengthen collaborative learning in eighth-year students of basic education

Introduction: Collaborative learning is a learning methodology that allows strengthening the comprehensive development of students. Objectives: The objective of this research work is to propose a proposal for activities to strengthen collaborative learning in students in the eighth year of basic education at the José Benigno Iglesias Educational Unit in the city of Biblián to enhance the teaching-learning process. of the students. Methodology: The methodology used in this study is: the historical-logical method to resort to bibliographic queries with the purpose of studying the concepts, links, and general laws of the teaching process in collaborative learning to specify theoretical concepts of the research object. A mixed approach using the survey technique through a questionnaire as an instrument based on 10 questions previously selected and applied to 35 students of this establishment, to know the problems that students face to properly apply this methodology Results: once the survey, the results were tabulated where it is evident that the students knew this learning methodology, but did not develop it adequately, but with new activities they achieved significant learning. Basic elements of San Juanito in the development of gross motor skills in elementary general education students

Introduction:  motor skills are a relevant aspect of the dance activity of San Juanito, there are two types of motor skills, fine and gross, with gross motor skills being the first to be developed by human beings from birth, in addition, this type of activities allows the acquisition of coordination among other skills that are perfected in daily life. The objective of the dance is to enhance the control and mastery of the student's motor and body movements. Dance promotes motor actions of various manifestations, that is, it originates the control that the human being exercises over his own body. In the present analysis, the universe of study was made up of 61 students. In which, a qualitative-quantitative methodology was proposed, carried out through a dance training program with the rhythm of the San Juanito, this style of dance denotes the feeling of the indigenous people and that in turn is of great contribution in the development of motor coordination, likewise, it will be trained 3 days a week. The program lasted 10 months. A coordination test was applied, in which the motor skills of the upper and lower extremities were assessed. Likewise, it favors cognitive development and sequential displacements that are applied in the choreographic sequence. In the results obtained, it is perceived that dance and motor skills are related in the educational environment for the acquisition of skills and abilities that will enhance control and formative mastery in the teaching-learning process around physical education. Finally, it is concluded that the rhythm of San Juanito contributes to the acquisition of basic motor skills, therefore, dancing strengthens the muscles of children, improves their coordination and flexibility, contributing to the integral formation of the student. Artificial intelligence in the teaching of electricity technology

Introduction: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a great and important impact on the teaching of Electrical Technology. With the advancement of AI, tools have been developed that have optimized the way students learn the concepts associated with the subject of electricity. Objectives: The objective of this research is to explore the impact of AI in the teaching of electricity in technological institutes. To support this research, investigative studies were used to capture information such as scientific articles, magazines, books, and theses, with a total of 19 documents from the last eight years, with analysis and execution in Latin America. Methodology: The methodology used has an applied purpose, its scope is descriptive-statistical, type of field data will be used under the non-experimental design of a transversal nature under the inductive scientific method. Results: The result of the survey carried out with a group of students of the Electrical Technology program at the Simón Bolívar Higher Technological Institute (ISTSB) shows that the use of AI for learning the subject electricity enhances the interest in students to graduate and also showed that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is one of the main tools to strengthen this knowledge in teachers and students. Conclusions: It is concluded that the results of the research on the application of AI in education, the planning of strategies for its correct use, thus encouraging the development of our country, by continuing to investigate to develop new applications of AI in the teaching of electrical technology.
