Interdisciplinary project facing the social, cultural, and individual differences of the students

Introduction: the implementation of interdisciplinary projects is a strategy adopted by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador to highlight the development of cognitive, socio-emotional, and procedural skills of students within the framework of cooperative work and project-based learning methodology. In addition, interdisciplinary relationships constitute a way that makes it possible to improve the teaching-learning process and the training of professionals in an integral and holistic way. Objectives: this work is developed with the purpose of determining how the application of interdisciplinary projects contributes to teaching for diversity, considering the heterogeneity of students, especially students from different peoples and nationalities within the framework of intercultural education. Methodology: this research was conducted through a qualitative and quantitative approach that allowed to appreciate the information obtained on the inclusive educational practice in institutions of Indigenous peoples. For this, it relied on the bibliographic and field modality with theoretical support and approach to the educational reality. The research work presents an exploratory and descriptive level. The technique that was applied was the survey with a guide of ten questions aimed at 20 teachers working in different Educational Institutions. Results: the results show that working with interdisciplinary projects promotes creativity, encourages collaborative work, and motivates autonomous work. Conclusions:  however, the results highlight that attention to diversity is limited, because it does not consider the knowledge and knowledge of students from diverse cultures, to coexist harmoniously between mestizos, Indigenous, Afro-descendants, montubios and other cultures. Area of study or branch of science: Basic Education.

English language learning model using machine learning algorithms

Introduction. The article demonstrates why some types of ICT can be considered Artificial Intelligence systems, how their introduction in the educational process affects the cognitive changes of the student and what role the degree of trust plays in said systems. The study aims to determine how artificial intelligence (AI) influences a student using information and communication technologies (ICT) during English language classes in higher education. The article explains why some types of ICT can be considered AI systems, how their inclusion in the educational process influences a student's cognitive changes, and what role a student's degree of trust in such a system plays. The scientific novelty of the work lies in considering the influence of ICT on the cognitive abilities of a student learning a foreign language through the lens of AI. As a result, it was found that the closer the AI capabilities in ICT are to human activities while working with a foreign language, the less the activation of cognitive performance in a student. Objective. To determine the characteristics of the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on the student using information and communication technologies (ICT) in foreign language classes in higher education. Methodology. The study consists of considering the impact of ICT on the cognitive abilities of a student studying a foreign language through the prism of Artificial Intelligence. The possibilities of information and communication technologies are studied using digital intelligence in general and specifically, from the perspective of its suitability for teaching the English language. It is briefly reviewed, and some digital learning systems are differentiated as alternative resources for learning English. The work is based on the applicability of virtual linguistic interaction using in the information and education space: virtual teachers in the e-Learning environment, interactive agents (Chatbots) in the English learning process. Results. As a result, it has been established that the closer the possibilities of AI in ICT are to human activity when working with a foreign language, the lower the activation of cognitive activity by the student. Conclusion. Classical pedagogical technologies with the concomitant use of artificial intelligence allow the implementation of alternative learning models and make the transition from reproductive means of learning to innovative-reflexive ones.

Contribution of scientific and technical events to the sustainability of Havana's tourist destination. case studies: Pedagogy 2019 and University 2020 Congresses

Last century, humanity began in an organized way to become aware of the limitation of natural resources, their fragility, and the need for their conservation. In this context, the World Tourism Organization promoted the development of sustainable tourism, highlighting the balance between social, economic and environmental objectives. The current epidemiological situation and global awareness have made all tourism activity, including Event Tourism, adopt increasingly sustainable actions. Sustainability is not the same for the different tourism modalities, since the resources, motivations, behaviors, contacts and relationships involved may be totally different. A holistic and sustainable look is imposed on the activity of event management, valued in the first instance by the tourist flows it generates and therefore its income, but in the case of technical scientists - inserted in the knowledge society. Although the concept of sustainability is understood, there is a lack of knowledge regarding the Sustainable Development Goal and its integration into strategies. The general objective is thus defined: Assess the contribution of scientific-technical events to the sustainability of the Havana tourist destination, referenced to the study of the International Congresses Pedagogía 2019 and Universidad 2020. No previous works have been identified that establish conceptual or practical interrelations between the elements previously exposed. So the work is a theoretical and exploratory research and its value lies in the assessment of the attractiveness of the modality in question.

This work is focus on the necessity to rethink the relation between Tourism – Ethics and competitiveness from the formation of the professional of tourism to achieve a competent specialist from its integrality, to provide the quality services that tourism requires nowadays, considering the demands and challenges imposed by the scientific and technological development towards sustainability. This sustainability is expressed not only in the relation environment – economic growth, but also must be understood as the link between the social, political, cultural, and ethical dimension because they condition the direction and principles of the development strategies and the use we make of knowledge and innovation to achieve it. The methodology used was mainly qualitative, especially the theoretical methods: analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logic, which allowed to establish the essential theoretical foundation of this article in order to argue about the need to rethink the studied relationship, and to contribute in the comprehension of how specialist training of the tourism sector from a professional ethics is a support for the new challenges the sector is facing in the contemporary world in terms of sustainability.
