Aluminum-silicon alloy materials applied in the manufacture of parts of reciprocating internal combustion engines Part II

This paper presents a systematic knowledge of the chemical composition, type of molding and treatment, mechanical and thermal properties, of aluminium-silicon (Al-Si) alloys applied in the manufacture of structural parts of reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE), with the aim of providing support for the development of researches when compare, analyze or select the presented alloys. For which, a first paper was presented that revealed that structural parts of these types of engines are manufactured with Al-Si alloys. This second part establishes the importance that Al-Si alloys will have in reducing emissions of polluting gases, problematic that the world has. In response, the article presents the benefits and properties of Al-Si alloys of the series ANSI AA 3xx.0 and 4xx.0, being its low density which allows a lower fuel consumption compared to high density materials, for which are applied in structural parts of the RICE type Otto. A brief description of the manufacture of Al-Si alloy parts for RICE is also made. Finally, its present the structuring of a table that shows the ANSI AA 3xx.0 and 4xx.0 alloys applied in the manufacture of structural parts of RICE Otto, concluding that the technical information of the industrial applications of the alloys, have been developed and structured in a systematized way, to provide detailed and comparative knowledge between the properties.

Evaluation of the impact energy absorption capacity and hardness in 3D printed specimens of PLA and ABS with cubic and tri-hexagonal structure

Currently, custom orthotics are being built for physical rehabilitation using 3D rapid prototyping, due to this it is important to know their mechanical resistance, due to it has been proposed to test 3D printed specimens with PLA and ABS filaments. The test specimens were designed using CAD software, based on ASTM D256; Later they were 3D printed with a cubic and tri-hexagonal filling structure in PLA and ABS materials. Several tests were carried out to analyze the resistance of the test pieces: the Izod pendulum impact test, microscopy of the breaking surface and the SHORE D hardness analysis. Based on the results obtained, it was determined that the 3D printed specimen with ABS offers greater absorption of impact energy with respect to the PLA specimen; The filling structure of the test piece that gives the greatest mechanical resistance is the cubic structure compared to the tri-hexagonal structure. Furthermore, it is determined that the hardness of the PLA specimen is greater than that of the ABS specimen, finally it was observed that the fracture of the PLA specimen is linear, while the fracture of the ABS specimen is zigzag shaped.

Cooperative learning model of the English language using information and communication technologies

The objective of this article is to reveal the impact of a combined cooperative learning strategy and information and communication technologies to improve English language learning. The study population was of 100 students: 50 from the intervention group and 50 from the control group, who belonged to the Chemical Engineering degree at the Higher Polytechnic School of Chimborazo. Through a quasi-experimental analysis and control group, the development of the four language skills such as listening, reading, speaking, writing, and the two linguistic areas: grammar and vocabulary. The statistically analyzed results show that the students improved their skills in the English language proficiency. on geometric elements to reason about conditional probability. The productions analyzed before and after the instruction. The purpose was to contribute to the construction of the meaning of the formula programmed in the software or firmware of a network interface, by promoting the ability to carry out the cognitive construction of the communication channel and its behavior in a work setting. Students who developed this skill showed less difficulty in their resolutions and came up with new ideas on optimizing.
