Abstract

Gastritis is an acute or chronic inflammatory disease of the gastric mucosa produced by exogenous and endogenous factors that produces marked symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, its diagnosis is given through the patient's clinic in conjunction with an endoscopy and histological confirmation, it is considered that 50% of the world population is infected with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, the main etiology of this disease, so we set as objective to determine the incidence of predisposing factors in the development of chronic gastritis in the nursing staff of the Leon Becerra Hospital of the City of Milagro, through a non-experimental study with cross-sectional direction, in addition to a descriptive approach, the population was 150 Nursing professionals, of whom 106 were randomly selected, the techniques and instruments for data collection were Surveys aimed at Nursing professionals and the literature review of scientific journals, updated books, internet among others, as results were obtained that 72% of the nurses have presented some gastrointestinal pathology, 9% said that they do not have a fixed feeding schedule, the average number of meals 68% were 2-3 meals, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is 76% and also 72% said that their general health is bad, so it is concluded that the predisposing factors with a greater incidence in the development of the Chronic gastritis are unbalanced diets, not having an adequate feeding schedule and alcohol intake and decreased physical activity in nursing professionals
