Feasibility of TIG welding in the assembly of extruded 6063 aluminum for automobile manufacturing

Introduction. One of the most used materials in various industrial processes is aluminum, due to its great versatility and low weight, great malleability and formability, resistance to corrosion, and high electrical conductivity. Its appearance has allowed a boom in the development of new techniques, methods, and applications. Among the joining methods are welding processes, and specifically the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process, which uses an atmosphere of Argon gas to protect the formation of the weld seam. Objective. The present study is focused on analyzing the feasibility of TIG welding in the assembly of extruded 6063 aluminum for automobile manufacturing. Methodology. It is based on documentary and bibliographical research. Results. They were based on the analyzes of the characteristics of the 6063 alloy, the extrusion of the metals and the characteristics of the weld. Conclusion. Embrittlement of the base material was obtained due to electric arc heating, as well as a decrease in tensile strength and an increase in the hardness of aluminum before a welding procedure. To minimize and solve the effects described above on the characteristics of aluminum, a heat treatment must be used after the welding process.

Obtaining a natural coagulant from the opuntia ficus indica (prickly pear) leaf for wastewater treatment

Introduction: The permanent discharges of effluents without prior treatment have increased in recent years, causing the loss of the quality of water resources, which makes it feasible to develop water treatment systems for which harmful chemical products are used. for health, for this reason, it is proposed to replace them largely by natural agents derived from plant products that have a similar or better behavior to them. Objective. Obtain a natural coagulant from the Opuntia ficus indica (Prickly Pear) leaf through several unit operations for wastewater treatment. Methodology: The described natural coagulant is obtained through different unit operations such as: drying, grinding, sieving and solid-liquid extraction. Results: Very good removal percentages such as COD 78.12%, BOD5 58%, Total Nitrogen 89.06%, Fecal Coliforms 100%, Total Coliforms 100% and Turbidity 85.47% were achieved, evidencing that the treatment is viable. Conclusion:  It was verified that by using a natural coagulant extracted from the Opuntia ficus indica (prickly pear) leaf, removal percentages similar to those obtained by conventional chemical products can be achieved, considerably attenuating the level of contamination in the final product of said process.

Methodological proposal for the management of road projects in the southern zone of Ecuador

This article addresses the problem of road project management because, the methodology, the lack of planning and the lack of management do not respond to the technical and economic point of view of the project, generating delays in the schedules and cost overruns. It is necessary to understand that the quality of communication routes of a territory is part of an important factor for the development of the country or region, and it is essential to improve the processes that allow their construction, because if the land routes are in good condition, they favor the population that benefits from the mobility of people, goods and services. For this research, the experimental method was used, through an interview with a structured questionnaire to obtain the results required for the formulation of the proposed methodology, which is expected to contribute effectively to the construction companies that adopt it. This was created based on international standards and methodologies management models that are applied worldwide, to correct in time, the inconveniences presented and avoid further delays that generate inconveniences to users and that, in the same way, produce cost overruns. It is also hoped that this study will serve as a guide for future projects, especially road projects and other civil works.

Introduction: In recent decades, greater interest in operational excellence and quality is evident in organisations. The Balanced ScoreCard is a system for controlling and measuring strategic performance. Objective: To conduct a bibliometric study on the scientific production related to the balanced scorecard in the public sector published in the Web of Science. Methodology: The research maintained a qualitative-quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective approach from a scientometric configuration; a total of 59 documents published in the Web of Science were identified for the study. Results: The documents were published between 2003 and 2022, mostly in English, in 48 scientific journals, elaborated by 151 authors, the percentage of international collaboration is 28.81%, 90% are original articles, 8% reviews and 2% belong to Congresses. Conclusion:  Trends evidence a reduced amount of publications on Balanced ScoreCard in the public sector; publications focus on studying its development in health, safety, sports services; scientific production behaves exponentially, but no clear trend of sources is distinguished; Australia and Spain have the highest scientific output and maintain the highest collaboration rates; the main journals, mostly from the UK, are in the top quartiles of the Scimago Journal Rank; the network of co-occurrences identifies Balanced ScoreCard and Public Sector as the main key terms; the topic is considered innovative and focuses on moving from a business to a governmental vision.
