Abstract

In the work carried out in the recreation module, we found in the diagnosis made to the different CDR that one of the chronic non transmissible diseases that abound in them is obesity. Therefore, this work was carried out in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of these people.

The treatment of obesity is multifactorial, although it is fundamentally based on the combination of two pillars (diet and exercise).

The combination of a generally hypo-energetic diet (adequate for the constitution and the way of life of each subject), accompanied by permanent moderate exercise, is a good option in the prevention and treatment of obesity. Exercise not only preserves but even increases muscle mass. The combination of both approaches allows neither the diet to be as strict nor the exercise to be as vigorous, which facilitates the permanence of the obese person in the weight reduction program.
