Analysis of the costs incurred during the diagnosis and treatment of Duchenne / Becker Muscular Dystrophy

Abstract

The present work was carried out at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) and aims to present a research on how cost management is performed in the services offered by this institution, particularly the cost of performing the molecular diagnosis of diseases such as Dystrophy Muscular Duchenne / Becker and its treatment for which the resources that intervene in the diagnosis of a patient of this disease were identified. The total cost obtained for each of these activities is considerably high, however, the benefits obtained contribute to evaluating the treatment as a viable and essential alternative to avoid an increase in infant mortality and raise the quality of life of patients and patients their families.
