Abstract

Introduction. Beats originating in the atrioventricular (AV) node or His bundle characterize the nodal or junctional rhythm. Although rare in adults, it is related to multiple causes.    Objective. to describe the aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of this pathology, in order to establish novel and instructive elements of the disease. Methodology. Case presentation and review of the updated literature, with emphasis on the description of possible related causes, treatment and care.  Results. 30-year-old woman, with a known history of tachyarrhythmia, who attends a follow-up visit. Clinical and echocardiographic evaluation were normal. Electrocardiography diagnosed nodal reentrant tachycardia plus idionodal rhythm, which was treated with Diltiazem. Conclusion. For an adequate clinical and therapeutic approach to these patients, it is possible to achieve a normal life. For this, a complete clinical history is indispensable. General area of study: medicine.
